The RAV4s record was notable, nevertheless, as the Toyota now leads Hondas previously second-ranked CR-V on year-to-date terms.

The RAV4 has been an essential part of the Toyota brands Canadian growth of late. In September, Toyota sales grew 7.7%. Non-RAV4 Toyotas, however, were actually down 3.1%.

At the Ford brand, meanwhile, Canadian sales increased 4.7% in September 2014. But non-Escape models were up by just 0.5%.

You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly Canadian auto sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBCs Sales Stats page. GCBC isnt here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better. This explains why youll see the Encore and XV Crosstrek are listed with small cars, too, and the tweener-sized Sorento and Santa Fe are shown with midsize SUVs and small SUVs, and the pricey FJ Cruiser and Xterra with midsizers, as well... because readers have wanted it both ways. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts. GCBC has historically shown the Liberty with midsize SUVs but as the Cherokee - truly not midsize inside - replaces the Liberty, proper year-over-year comparison requires seeing the Liberty listed here with these smaller utility vehicles.

Midsize SUV Sales In America December 2014 2014 Year End

Remember 2006? That was the last time Fords Explorer was Americas best-selling SUV. 179,226 Explorers were sold that year.

In 2014, the Explorer was Americas fifth-best-selling utility vehicle even though Explorer sales were 17% higher last year than they were in 2006. Smaller utility vehicles - the Honda CR-V, Fords own Escape, the Toyota RAV4, and Chevrolets Equinox - have long since taken over as Americas top sellers.

Yet the Explorer, now entering the fifth model year of this fifth-generation, is increasingly popular. Police Interceptor excluded, Explorer sales jumped 6% in 2014, a gain of more than 11,000 units. No three-row vehicle sells more often in America than the Explorer, though the Chrysler/Dodge minivan duo combines for more sales.

Among midsize SUVs and crossovers, the GM Lambda platform trio is the Explorers main challenge. The Enclave, Traverse, and Acadia sold 260,215 copies in 2014.

You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly U.S. auto sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBCs Sales Stats page. These tables are now sortable, so you can rank midsize SUVs and crossovers any which way you like. Suggestions on how GCBC should break down segments can be passed on through the Contact page.

The Renault Duster SUV is a four-wheel drive petrol variant on the most complete set. For Renault Duster, this means that the choice a little more to the set of the most necessary. This is not surprising, because the car was conceived as a low-end, and prices start in the Ukraine with a simple sign of $ 131,900. The first impression rose in very nice Renault Duster. Midsize SUV Sales In America November 2014 YTD

Much of the strength in the U.S. utility vehicle market stems from growth in the number of available luxury nameplates and the expansion of the small two-row crossover segment.

In the former group, we have new products like Lexus NX, Lincoln MKC, Audi A3, and Mercedes-Benz GLA. In the latter, the Honda CR-V ended November as Americas best-selling non-pickup truck.

Thats not to say this larger, often-two-row type of vehicle is struggling, but its not the source of excitement among SUV sellers that the smaller segment is.

Then again, the Ford Explorer continues its march upwards. No three-row vehicle – no minivan, no crossover, no SUV - sells as often in the United States as the Explorer. Sales of the venerable Ford nameplate are up 9% this year and shot up 15% in November.

The Toyota 4Runner still resides on the truck-based side of the SUV/crossover conundrum. The 4Runner has taken off in 2014, rising 53% in November and 48% through the first eleven months of the year.
